Abu-Talib
Learning Center is a full time deenyaat school which
meet at Al-Ghadeer
Education Foundation every Sunday from
11AM to 2PM. While we only meet once a week, students
are given a prgress sheet which we call Star
Sheet, to keep track of how they are doing
all week long. These sheets are collected and tabulated
every sunday and their results are posted at the end
of each semester. |

Abu-Talib
Learning Center consists of 8 different levels in
both Qur'anic Studies, and Deenyaat. Students are
evaluated and placed in to a specific level based
on their current level of knowledge. At the end of
school year in the month of Ramadhan, all the students
paricipate in the Knowledge Contest where they take
both written and verbal tests. The results of the
Knowledge Contest are announced at the Eid-ul-Fitr
gathering and determine which level the student will
pariticpate in for the next year. Details regarding
the curriculum of each level can be found in the Curriculum
Section of
the site. |

Abu-Talib
Learning Center's school is divided in to five semesters
consisting of three full semesters, a Mohurrum/Safer
semester, and a Minisemester in Ramadhan. During the
three full semesters, ATLC meets every sunday at 11:00
AM except for on specific eid sundays. For exact dates
you can view/download our Calendar
for the 2004-2005 school year. During the Mohurrum/Safer
semester, ATLC meets every night at the daily majlis.
Because we meet every night, we do not
meet at 11:00 AM on sundays. During the Mohurrum/Safer
semester, teaching is focused around the tragety of
karbela. For the first 13 days of Mohurrum students
of ATLC deliver a 5-10 min speech before the maulana's
speech. Also, throughout the entire semester, students
recite Quran and Soaz khani on a daily basis. The
last of the five semesters is the minisemester in
Ramadhan. During this semester ATLC meets 1 hour before
mughribain prayers. This semester consists of rigerous
preperation for the Knowledge Contest held at the
end of the month. |
